Up until the first of this year I was employed by WWE as a story
consultant. Essentially my job was to be sure that some of the
storylines progressed in a way that would engage the audience.
The one I am most proud of was the MVP/Matt Hardy story. The series
of challenges was meant as a way to get both competitors to the upper
midcard and potentially keep the rivalry going for years to come --
especially if one happened to get to the main event. There hasn't been
a
strong rivalry in the national/international market for a few years
now.
The idea is to hopefully get a Flair/Sting or a Rock/Austin type of
feud
going. In a year or two they may just have that.
Another one I was involved in was the Vince's son storyline. It was
never going to be Kennedy. It was ALWAYS meant to be Hornswaggle. The
suspensions around this time actually hurt us as it fueled the rumors
we fed to the dirtsites about it being Kennedy. Still, this is going as
planned. The main idea was a way to turn Dave Finlay face. It went a
bit
slower than I thought it would but, if it still goes as it should, this
will be something a lot of you are hoping for.
There've been a couple other things I am proud of (such as the pushes
for Stevie Richards and Jamie Noble) even if they didn't turn out as I
expected. Then there's a few that were just complete bombs for one
reason or another. All in all, it was a great experience -- even if not
even 25% of my suggestions and ideas weren't considered.
You KNOW there will be the obligatory demands for your W-2s. If you
were, why didn't you use some of the scenarios RSPW offered?
The same reason I don't use RSPW for dating advice.
ouch...that hurts us brah
