I didn't like how he kept showing his face during the battle. I also wish
he'd referred to himself as "we".

You thought the showing of the face was weird, or the fact that he didn't
refer to himself as "we" ?


The "we" bit. The showing of is face was something that happened a few times in the 90s animated series and I presumed they'd have lifted it from an instance in the comics at some point so it didn't seem unusual. Although there might be a bit of a continuity error with him being naked in there or something. Better not to think about it.

Actually, the "Peter killed her" thing was established very shortly after
her death. It wasn't mentioned in the story itself, but Gerry Conway (the
writer of the story) did a little blurb in the letter page a couple months
after her death. He mentioned that it was Peter's webline that broke her
neck, but if he had just let her fall she would've died anyway... basically
that it was a no win situation.
Ah, I didn't know that. My current feeling on it is that Peter knows he could have if he'd have handled it differently. Particularly demonstrated when he met the clones of Miles Warren and Gwen back in the 90s. Although now I think about it there's a What If? issue where he saves her by catching her mid swing instead which would precede that example by decades... so yeah, maybe it's not that new after all. But still, I don't think it's really been expanded on too much until recent years story wise.

The Gwen clone comes back?


The Gwen clone from Even If I Live, I Die... yes. Peter investigates a house during the 90s clone saga and finds the clone of Gwen there shacked up with a clone of Professor Warren. She hits him with a broom or something and when he's chasing her car over a bridge a new Green Goblin (Phil Ulrich) inexplicably kidnaps her and then drops her, resulting in the mid-swing catch. It's in Web Of Spider-Man 125 if I remember right. She shows up towards the end of the clone saga (as far as the Jackal's involvement in it anyway) and I don't think she's been seen since.
