blacks in college: 2.3 million (7% of all blacks)
blacks in prison: 880,000 (3.6% of all blacks, 44% of all prisoners)
whites in college: 12.5 million (6% of all whites)
whites in prison: 700,000 (0.35% of all whites, 35% of all prisoners)

Sorry Bede - you're right again, as usual.
The 4 to 1 ratio is among black men between the ages of 18 to 24. In
other words, a large percentage of that 880,000 are black men above
the age of 24.
