Happy Birthdays 6/30

Happy Birthday To You if today's your birthday! Your birthday
coincides with these people's birthdays, among many more:

Lena Horne (1917) - Beautiful-sounding and -looking singer. Best known
for her rendition of "Stormy Weather".

Harry Blackstone, Jr. (1934, RIP) - Popular stage magician, not as good
as his father "The Great Blackstone". I remember seeing him on TV
doing adiasppearing coin (or something) trick and I actually saw him
hide the coin in a pouch in his cumberbun. A true jobber in my book.

Nancy Duissault (1936) - Played Muriel Rush on "Too Close For Comfort".

David Horowitz (1937) - Consumer reporter and host of "Fight Back! With
David Horowitz.

Robert Ballard (1942) - Oceanographer, found the underwater sites of
the famous ships H.M.S. Titanic and the German battleship, the
Bismarck.

David Garrison (1952) - Played Steven Rhodes, Marcy's first husband, on
"Married With Children".

David Alan Grier (1955) - Stand-up comic, best known for his time on
"In Living Color" where he played (as one of his characters) Antoine
Merriweather in the 'Men On Film' sketches. Two snaps up and a slide!

Mike Tyson (1966) - "Iron Mike" was the baddest MF'er(n. Hardy fan) in
the boxing world in the 1980s and early 90s. Since then he has become
a human punching bag, inside the ring and out. I hope he does well in
the future.

Ralf Schumacher (1975) - Formula 1 Driver, younger brother of F1 Champ
Michael Schumacher.

Fantasia Barrino (1984) - Winner of the 2004 "American Idol"
competition. Winner of today's 'WEHT ___' post.

Finally, Happy Birthdays go out to...

Ed "Strangler" Lewis (1891, RIP) - One of, if not THE, most devastating
submission wrestlers of all time. He could (and purportedly did) maim
and cripple his opponents in the ring, if he felt like it. In his over
four decade career he wrestled in over 6200 matches and lost only 33
(his math). He even trained and managed on occasion Lou Thesz.

Terry Funk (1944) - The meanest, toughest SOB to hit pro wrestling,
Terry is still going strong. Since his first match in 1965, he has
been in wrestling rings throughout the world. NWA champ, ECW champ,
WCW Hardcore champ, WWF tag champ, he's been around - Hell, he's been
wrestling longer than I've been alive! Part of me hopes he retires
soon, so he can rest up, but another part of me realized that when he
stops wrestling he stops living. Go, Funk, go!

And if today's not your birthday, have a great day nonetheless!!!
