Idiots, every single one of you. There is nothing worth seeing in
the theater 90% of the time. Maybe once or twice a year, there is
something that comes out that is worth seeing on the big screen,
but it seems like every week people get excited when the next
shitty MPAA flick comes out.

Look what they are giving us this week...

-Nacho Libre
-Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift
-Some lame Keanu Reeves/Sandra Bullock love story

How can you people stand to watch this *** in a theater? At home I
can understand. You have the comfort of home and the ability to
distract yourself if the movie sucks, but driving twenty minutes to
pay $8 to see some dumbass movie about Honda Civics sliding around
Tokyo? Or worse, paying that $8 thinking you are going to see Jack
Black do something original.

Barnum (or Hull, depending on who you believe said the term) was
right. One of you is born every minute.

Unless I get talked into it I will not see any comedy in the
theater.
The big screen is reserved for *** that will actually be enhanced by
the theater experience for me to spend my money on that. Or if it's
an art film or classic that is rarely shown around here then I will.
I lvoe movies. I just hate the fact that the industry is making going
to the theaters not worth the money.

Step 1: projectionists ARE worth the money. I'm sick of seeing out of
focus movies and sound out of synch. Pay them their fucking money. It
takes skill. Some schlub making $7 an hour CAN'T FUCKING DO IT RIGHT!

True

Step 2: Show more than just the recent ***. Show older movies as
part of a double feature sometimes! Why not screen Nacho Libre with,
say, School of Rock. Or A Scanner Darkly with Minority Report. You'll
make your money back and more with concessions.

Damn not many people even remember such a thing was ever done.
But theatres will never go for it - they already freak out over the
two or three
films that average out to 3 hours long. After 90minutes they want your
ass out
of that theatre.

Step 3: Midnight screenings. They rock. In the next few months I will
be seeing Fight Club and the Big Lebowski on the big screen --
something I have never done.

True. Does anyplace still do Rocky Horror?
yeah i know of 3 or 4 theaters around the Gulf Coast that have done
rocky in the past few years.
