The part they are looking to drill on is a barren coastal region which is usually covered in ice most of the year. Away from the coast, where they aren't looking to drill, you can find some critters and some plants. None of the 'paradise' part is going to be drilled. The anti drilling folks like to take pictures of areas where no drilling is being considered and claim that it is the area where people want to drill.
