This whole thing has just been very confusing and scary: confusing
because, even though reading the details and facts explains that this
wasn't something to be afraid of, the politicians were TOTALLY against
this; and scary because of the xenophobic stench this entire thing has
generated towards a Middle Eastern ally.
The neo-con Fear Machine worked too well. After
hammering the "Osama is watching and waiting" nail
for 4+ years, how could Rove and Cheney and et al,
NOT be surprised at this reaction about the port deal?
