Re: Rainmaker a-hole on ebay - by Habeeb

i'd buy a busted dm5 for 150. there really isn't anything in that
marker that would cost that much to fix, and at worst i'd take it to
dye at a psp/nppl event and say "fix it"

You're right, I can't say what it will sell for. The only thing I
could do was attempt to educate the a-hole somewhat. All I did was
showed him what some past ones have sold for, and basically explained
to him that he's wasting his time with a buy it now as high as his is.
You see people all the time: they pick up stuff at garage sales, and
throw it on ebay, without any idea of what they have. I've written to
them before, and generally they are grateful for any information. This
guy, on the other hand, throws what he has up there saying "I know
nothing about it, picked an arbitrary number, and there ya go". I
wouldn't pay that much for ANY gun that is untested with an "as is"
policy in place...I don't care if its the latest and greatest angel
mach 22 with superthreading technology: if its busted, I just paid 150
bucks for a really pretty paperweight. I'm going to wait until the
auction is almost over and offer him 25 bucks, shipped.

$159.99 for an untested, used rainmaker. Good luck asswipe. I would
encourage everyone to bombard this idiot with e-mails offering him 10 -
15 bucks for the POS ;)

While overall I agree with you, and agree that his response was that of
an immature ***, you can't really say what this POS will go for.
I've sold used stuff on ebay for more than I paid for it brand spankin new.

You never know what's going to happen. People get caught up in
"winning" an auction (kudos to ebay for coming up with that little
marketing twist) and pay way more for crap than they should. On the
flip side, people that really know what something is worth tend to want
to steal it and not pay a fair price. Not always the case, but the
point is it could go either way. If he gets some nimrod that doesn't
know anything but how to use mom or dad's cc and thinks that rainmaker
is a piece of old skool kool, he might get his stupid price.

Anyway, I offered $15. :)
