Tony,know
I wasn't saying you can't do it,the high rate of fire that is.I was
saying
finding a field that would let you use it is the problem. Most fields I
of have limits to rate of fire BECAUSE OF INSURANCE,NOT PHYSICS. I knowits
been done(read this thread),Im just saying that whats the benefit of a,can
minigun when due to legal/insurance reasons you have to limit it to say
15
round bursts. You do the math.... Gun ,you can make the gun, find a field
where you can shoot people with it. You see over shooting at 1000 rpm
you now see the overshooting at 6 TIMES that rate of fire. Heck you see
overshooting with guns that shoot 8 bps. I sure as hell don't want
someone
shooting at me with a gun that will leave a solid stripe of paintballs
whereever it hits. You do the math, figure out the kinetics involved with
a
nice long burst(1/2 second) smacking into someones skull,I bet you the
numbers start to look scary.
Jay
If his gun is computer controlled, it's not a problem. Just slow it down
for
paintball use. Speed it back up for exhibition.
fields would feel comfortable with. And yes a computer driven gun would be a
way to handle it.
Side note- the only reason I went off on the math tangent is because Tony
chimes in with a wise crack and ends with do the math comment. Personaly I
like the idea of an "affordable" minigun. It does have a hell of a neat
factor.
Paul, a heart felt good luck with the project. Just make sure you can spin
up the barrels while not shooting paint for that awesome electronic whine of
the servoes going like crazy.
