I'd *REALLY* like to know how any of that is relevant, that's what I
yeah, like to know. We're talking about one thing, and you pipe up, "oh
leastwell I can spit watermelon seeds across my driveway!" *triple take*
WHAT??? Who the *** cares about that?
I was just clarifying that I know about the area and the environment
and could probably have the actual information that I was stating. I
I lived in South Africa for 5 years. Does that mean I have ANY personal
insight whatsoever into the salaries of the police officers there, at
topicany more than you would? NO!! So it's completely irrelevant to the
theat hand.
Put it this way, I was seeking employment in that field at the time
and it was recommended to me. I was given the stat *** for the area
buy the Borough.
was also adding in that I enjoy an environment that you could probably
not handle.
What makes you think I couldn't handle the environment? I was born in
knowgreat white north, I know what real winter is. I've lived in Africa, I
else?what REAL summer is. I've been to the extremes and came back to tell the
tale, do you honestly think that I wouldn't be able to handle an Alaskan
winter? What makes you think you're so much better at it than anyone
you
You where born in the great white north. I assume that was indoors?
Have you actually lived outside for 2-4 weeks at a time? Did you
volunteer and to go outside to get some quiet sleep in the nearest
drift. Was in excess of -45F when you did and did you stay there
because you did not want to be around the noise.
I have run across this before where people were raised along the
USA/Canada border or even in the lower portion of Canada that have
stated that they were of the Great White North and after they went on
maneuvers and the next thing we know we go on maneuvers against them
only to find them all cuddled up with the shakes and saying we give
up.
I would love to see you moving across some muskeg or the northern
tundra. Then again I would not. ;-)
Maybe I should not assume because of your soft hands and such that you
would not enjoy an environment that would definitely require some sort
of manual labor (even though you stated it earlier). I was wrong to
assume. My error. I would gladly like to see you go up and enjoy it.
You do realize that heavy/obese people tend to develop frostbite in
their extremities faster than those more fit. They also are not as
body aware and it occurs before they actually realize that it has and
then it is already to late.
I additionally stated that there are people that enjoy
the Blue Collar environment for reasons beyond your understanding.
That much I can personally attest to. There are people who enjoy the
wierdest crap for reasons that are totally beyond my comprehension. Did
literallyknow that there are people who get sexual gratification from being
wouldn't*** on? Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I guess what
you're telling me is that there is a cadre of folks out there who enjoy
being figuratively *** on.
But you can't convince me that if a person was given the option of taking
inordinate amounts of money for doing the EXACT SAME JOB, that they
stupid.take that money. You can't convince me that someone could be that
doesn't.In other words, money *DOES* matter, even to those folks who say it
sad
So
when I say there are blue collar workers that are easily in the ball
park beyond your present level of money than you claim to make. You
may want to not use the word(s) "No" or "No Way". In your world of
vast knowledge and perfectness you may still fall on the short side.
I know there are PLENTY of blue collar workers making what I do. It's
inthat they do, because, as a general rule, they don't deserve it. Anyone
category,a union or brotherhood or fellowship of ANY kind falls into that
doesand I can't think of a single blue collar job that pays near what mine
theythat DOESN'T involve organized labor of some kind or another. The *ONLY*
reason that blue collar workers make as much as they do is because of
unions, and that SICKENS me, because they are so blinded by their own
shortsightedness that they can't see past their own noses to see what
American, are doing to America as a whole. These fuckin guys tell me to buy
honesttell you what, fuckers, I'll buy American when you start ACTING American.
Fuckin socialist hippie commie fuckin union bastards I hate those fuckin
guys like you would NOT believe. I am so livid that I can't even TYPE
straight right now. Could you see me getting madder and madder as this
paragraph progressed?
Goddamn right. My hands are super soft, and I intend to keep them that
way.
No lotion or nothin, either, just good old fashioned lack of real,
anything Iwork. ;)
I know that as I am sure that others do. I am not saying that you do
but some use money as an excuse to escape or evade the outdoors and
confrontation of the simple but honest people. I love the simple
life.
... because you are simple. Sorry, but you walked into that one. ;)
That is true but I love it. Why would one enjoy the hustle and rush
of a city.
You know what *I* use money for? To make sure I don't have to do
todon't CHOOSE to do. I never want to be REQUIRED to do anything. I want
ditches,do what I want, and money buys me that. If I *choose* to dig ditches at
that point, that's my CHOICE, but I don't want to be FORCED to dig
tojust to make ends meet. By choosing to get educated and work in a career
that I enjoy that doesn't require manual labor, and then, I can use money
foodmake sure I don't have to cut my grass, or clean out my gutters, for
example, among other things. I can use my money to buy well prepared
myat resturants, given that I'm not a good cook. I can use my money to get
struggling actors to entertain me with theater performances. I can use
thingsmoney for whatever I want so that *I* don't have to do all of those
youfor OTHER people with money. By embracing blue collar, you ensure that
are required to do that sort of thing, just to make ends meet.
Over all it is different strokes for different folks.
I like Alaska for one other key fact. In most places especially away
from the city in times of need your worst enemy would be one of the
first there to help. Try that in the city and you will be lucky if
your so called friends show up. A lot of the time they are to busy
and do not want to be bothered if it does not benefit them in some way
or fashion. They may be encouraged to donate that treasured money
that they make so much of but do not want to part with. ;-)
Of course this is one sided but I have witnessed same by many.
