I agree with that and there are many ways just like there are many
different jobs in the military. Each Military base is like a town in
it's own aspect. There are several hundreds of different jobs in the
military. Anything from logistics and support, research and
development, to the actual combat arms.

I also agree with shoring up the home front since there would not be
any reason for the service if there were no home or home front to
fight fore or represent.

I have seen women in the MP's doing route recon and such so yes I
think they definitely contribute. Route recon is where you are
looking for and clearing a route for vehicular and personnel movement.
Yes, they lost there lives and such doing this during the Persian Gulf
war and the Iraqi War.

Not to mention when I went back in a second time after a seven year
break in service I had to go through basic training again and then
through MP Training. I chose not to go back into the Infantry and the
younglings do that. :-)

It was very interesting how many of the women/girls were literally
putting the men/boys to shame. I mean in my unit there was one girl
that could pretty much keep up with me in pushups and sit ups when a
lot of the other guys could not and I was thirty years old at the
time. Embarrassingly enough there were a lot of guys that were
wimping out on the forced training marches and the females just kept
going and while carrying the same load.

It was great but disgusting at the same time. They all volunteered so
it really was not like they did not know what they were getting into.
Now I will say it could be distracting in certain situations but hey
just grow up.
