I didn't accuse anybody of anything. After noting my name amongst a
bunch of verbiage I didn't write, and having had this happen once
previously with another party, I merely pointed out I didn't write any
of it.
All I said was:
----------------
Appearing to quote me, again, when in fact the verbiage was apparently
contained in a post of mine replying to someone else.
In fact, this is all an exchange between two other people. FTR, I
didn't write a word of this.
----------------
Darned if I see an accusation in there, or an attack - just a
correction of an apparent error.
Nor am I about to question your professional credentials, yet you leap
right on to mine as if they matter in some way. I was journalist for a
long time (mostly pre-computer) and I'm in PR now, and I don't frequent
any newsgroups in connection with either. If you wanna pass some
judgment on that, you go right ahead - but no one who matters is
complaining about my work. Clearly, you know not what you talk about
on this score; ya don't even know exactly what I do. (Yes, I brought
it up - to make a point, not as a slam.)
I don't know why folks have to slam people, or try to, during an honest
disagreement.
Fact is, I didn't write what the post - for whatEVER reason - made it
appear I wrote.
Your apology for not snipping is accepted. It really wasn't necessary,
I reiterate I wasn't accusing you of anything - just deflecting undue
credit/blame based on the eye of the beholder.
Your slam tying newsgroup protocols to my work is resented, however, as
the wrong that it is.
