It's not Kerry was standing on the bridge of his destroyer shelling
Iwo
Jima, days before the invasion covering the UDTs sounding the
approaches, when a shell from Japanese shore battery hit the bridge
causing near fatal wounds that took two years to recover from was
it.
Or when the cable reel dropped off the duce and a half and landed on
my
foot during RESMABEX 83 or 84. That thing nearly broke my foot. But,
since it was just an exercise no PH for me.
PH #1 = minor wound. Band-aid.
PH #2 = Did he spend any time in rehab? In sick bay over night?
PH #3 = a bruise but, I know why it is called a contusion it sounds
so
much more medically.
It is true that Kerry was a sick bay commando and he was playing the
system to get sent home. Most guys would have refused the PH for
such
simple injuries.
I thought you just claimed "never to have questioned" Kerry's actions
on
the Swift Boats?
Seems like your memory is as bad as your ethics.
I didn't question his actions. I questioned why he went to sick bay for
a couple of scratches and a bruise.
The most important unanswered question is how Kerry left the Navy. I
have heard on good authority that he failed to attend required Navy
Reserve meetings and was given a "less than honorable" discharge,
because he was AWOL. What a guy! Would be a great POTUS and
"Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Larry
And of course, as usual, you 'heard' wrong.
Here's a link to the Wikipedia on Kerry :

Kerry received an honorable discharge from Pres Carter in 1978. He
should have been discharged in 1972 or 1974.
My cousin is an 2007 graduate from the USNA and he has a 9 year
obligation to the USMC because he went aviation. If he went Navy line or
USMC he would have been out in 5 years.
In general, officers don't have a specific obligation, although there
are exceptions. IOW, it isn't as cut and dried as for enlisted.
Officers serve at the pleasure of the President.
