I think any reasonable person can make a connection between test
scores and the date of the tests. The question was whether the
higher pay has improved education. The test scores don't show it.

No, any prejudiced person can make such a correlation. You might as
well associate this with the rise in average temperature - it has as
much established connection. It is always very dangerous for the
innumerate to try to argue with statistical data.

My data, which you have carefully avoided, asks how come the math
scores have gone up since 1972? According to you, then, higher pay
improves math scores.

I have a theory which accounts for both points of view: our mutual
friend, the moderator of nothing, is incapable of rational thought.
