I know a guy that does various forms of "entertainment
installations". In the business he installs everything from closed circuit
TV/secuirty
systems, alarms, home theaters, and home networks. About once a year I ask
him
if Brighthouse (local cable provider) or the dish folks (Direct and
Dish) are better. Same answer every year. He's got cable, and it's still
the
better deal. He'll install either, but he hates having to do it. Mostly
because when it goes bad, they call him, not the dish folks.
Ultimately it boils down to ones biases. Folks swear by one or the
othermostly because of what they watch, or do (with the cable modems).
But I still haven't been moved to switch. I guess ATT is in the game
now too.
If you happen to be in an area where Verizon is, FIOS is the absolute
best going. Phone, TV and blazing fast Internet. I've had Dish,
Direct TV and Cable TV. None even are close.
The service is good too. I had a break in the fiber and they had
someone here in a couple of hours to install a temporary line. The
only bitch I had was that it took them 4 weeks to get back out and
bury it.

Did they improve their DVRs? The ones they were using not long ago were
a never ending source of complaints.
