I think I get it now.

The wooosh sound is what I said going right over your head.

The only thing that goes over my head is airplanes.  :-)

I completely understand your point and I don't disagree with it. There
needs to be a line somewhere and as the host I've chosen to draw it at
no allowing DMDs.  Will that change next year?  Maybe.  Maybe not.

Maybe it will just take me a bit of time get used to the idea of these
new fangled machines.

You vote republican???

What does that have to do with anything?

You know, John, we met back at one of the RSG-ATL events.  I think we
may have even played one of the tournament rounds together.  We're
just having a discussion here -- talking, you know.  You seem to be
pretty upset about the whole thing.  It's just golf.  Just relax a
bit.

Only two things to know about range finders:

#1. They make no difference to your game. Never golfed with anyone who
has beciome a better player because they used rangefinders/GPS. Shoot
the same scores as always.

#2. They slow down play. Regulars just have to stand there analyzing
how far it is to the bunker, how far it is to the back of the green,
how far it is to the pin, how far it is the the front of the green.
How far it is to the beer cart! They've played the hole at least
dozens of times before, they know what club to use,,,but the theatre
is somehow necessary...necessary to look like an idiot I suppose,
certainly does nothing else!

If you don't know the course, the distance is just one issue. Theres
also elevation, the way the green plays, the wind and the lack of
confidence involved in trying a shot you have never tried before.

If people want to waste their money on the things, no skin off my
nose, but waiting all day on every approach shot while some fool just
has to go over all the various permutations and combinations before
missing the shot is definately skin off all our noses.
