Thanks Alan,

My plan is to come for two weeks, spend a few days golfing around the
Border area, and then cross the border, go to Newcastle and then
southwest toward Southport in Lancashire and play some of the Rota
and non-Rota courses there. Seems like Southport is a good base,
many golf courses within half hour drive. Any recommendation for
"hidden gems" on the way down. I noticed Berwick-upon Tweed and
Alnmouth and Barmburgh Castle, the pictures sure look nice!

Possibly in 2009, but definately in the next several years! With all
the craziness and uncertainty in world right now, real hard to make
firm plans for anything too far in advance. Thanks for any
suggestions and a very happy holiday season to you!

Berwick (goswick) is a fantastic course used as a local qualifier for the open, Alnmouth (foxton Hall),one of the oldest clubs in england another good quality course and they have accommodation on site, a bunch of us stay there every year, and Bamburgh is fun too.
I think a couple of them are in involved in a deal, something like coastal classics, check the goswick website
Looking forward to seeing you again.
