Tax the poor, there's less money out there for the rich to make selling

Penalize people who generate wealth by taking their money, you limit
their ability to generate wealth. Few better indices of ability to be
productive economically than income. Taking money from people who know
how to generate wealth and giving it to those who don't. Smart, real
smart.

But I'm all for taking another 10% off the top from Bobby Knight! He's
asking for it, he should get it! Spread your money around Bobby! I need
my $1K cheque!

Unemployed, govt. health care and a cheque for $1K from the feds. What a
bright future for the middle class!

While you've had your head stuck up your ass, America has had a progressive tax system for your entire lifetime, meaning that the rich have paid tax at a higher rate than you and I have, and you and I have paid taxes at a higher rate than the poor have.

The Republicans support this policy.

The Democrats merely want to shift it (about 3 percent) so the middle class will get some relief in an economy that clearly doesn't favor them, while the rich pay a little more -- so little more that at their level of wealth, it will hardly register on their radar screen.

Sen. Obama proposes to tax the wealthiest Americans at a rate equal to what they paid during the Clinton years. And nobody can make the case that the rich weren't doing just fine, thank you, during the Clinton years.

So this argument you're making is simply a sham.

As for Bobby Knight, who *wouldn't* want to take money from him? :-)
