I am going to do my best to be civil in this response.

Finally.  Someone I can talk to.  And even though I know I'll never make any
headway with you, at least I know you'll listen.

<snip>

I read one of your posts where you said the 2000 election was at the
root of your hatred. The thing is, the system worked. You and everyone
else on the left have nothing to complain about.

I am a conservative. I am not in the pocket of the insurance lobby or
any other lobby. As a matter of fact, I am just a consumer of
insurance products like all the rest of us. The American people spoke
loudly on that one. The First Lady was not accountable to anyone in
such a role. To re-engineer our health care system into something
resembling those found in Socialist countries without accountability
is just beyond all reason. I am proud of the people of this country
for calling the Clintons’ bluff on this one. America is the land of
equal opportunity – not equal outcome. The homeless guy on the corner
is not entitled to the same health care as my wife and me when he pays
nothing and we pay a premium of about $1000 a month. Socialist care
does not work. Why do Canadians come to the US all the time with their
health problems rather than wait in long lines for care and possibly
expire?

All your radio business hand-waving made my eyes glaze over. Do Rush
and Hannity have millions of listeners on a regular basis or not? Has
OReilly been on top of the cable news ratings for years now or not?
Liberals need to compete in the marketplace of ideas. Their whining
and negativity do not sell. Patriotism and conservative ideas (ie talk
radio) sell in a big way. So, Air America and Al Franken fail. Rush,
Hannity, Michael Savage, Larry Elder……………….

As Rush says himself, the reason he stays on top is because he is
entertaining. And talk about generating heat. Franken certainly does
plenty of that and he and Air America failed miserably.

Top Talk Personalities Ideology 2006
(Audience in millions) 2003
(Audience in millions)
Rush Limbaugh conservative 13.5 14.5
Sean Hannity conservative 12.5 11.75
Michael Savage conservative 8.25 7
Dr. Laura Schlessinger general 8 8.5
Laura Ingraham conservative 5 1.25
Neal Boortz conservative 3.75 2.5
Mike Gallagher conservative 3.75 2.5
Jim Bohannon independent/moderate 3.25 4
Clark Howard non-political 3.25 2.5
Bill O'Reilly conservative 3.25 1.75
Doug Stephen independent/moderate 3.25 2

Hmmmm………………. Don’t see any liberals on that list. Don’t think the so-
called Fairness Doctrine is the answer either.

Now, to the meat of the matter. I’ll show you mine if you show me
yours. Me first. I was surprised when the decision to go into Iraq was
announced. In retrospect, I believe that we should have completely
finished the job in Afghanistan (while keeping a wary eye on other
terrorist states) before we ever ventured into Iraq. We should have
had bin Laden in Washington DC on trial to answer for what he and Al
Queda did. And I say that while recognizing that regime change in Iraq
was made policy by law passed in Congress and signed by President
Clinton in 1998. Google it.

So, let’s go back to September 12, 2001. Let’s say Randy Brown is
POTUS. Chris Bellomy is VP. Bobby Knight is Speaker of the House. What
do you do? Certainly can’t do nothing. Somebody has to pay for the
3000 Americans killed in such a cowardly way. How does a liberal
leader deal with cold-blooded killers who want to tear our country
apart regardless of whether a Democrat or a Republican is in charge?
You seemed to acknowledge that W got off to a good start.

Do you recall the days leading up to going into Iraq? Everyone was on
board. Clinton, Kerry, Kennedy, Pelosi, Reid - all of them. Why are
they not branded as hypocrites now? I also wonder how the party can
treat a straight talker like Joe Liebermann the way they have.
Amazing.
