I haven't taken a lesson since '05 and figured it was time, prior to mythat
annual trek to Az. (where I'm at now). I told the pro I was using stack n
tilt and demonstrated it. Trouble was...I was doing only half of it. On
the takeaway, one is suppose to bend the left knee forward and then
straighten it fully during the downswing. I was doing the first half but
straightening it was difficult. Furthermore, I was starting to get lower
back pain for the first time in my life.
So we abandoned it and went to one plane. He taught me a takeaway move
has really helped me. Basically, you imitate the same motion as startinga
lawn mower. You pay no attention to the clubhead, shaft, or hands. Justwrist.
pull the cord and get to a cupped/waiter tray position with the right
Hips are quiet. You should feel centered at the top of the backswing, you're
maintaining address spine angle. Ball is further away than typical at
address, which gives you room on the downswing to release. Swing like
hitting a baseball. Followthrough should end up with your left wrist inthe
cupped/waiter position.Fun!
Anyway....I hit all my fairways today with good power and no backache.

I appreciate a "golf" posting but the problem as I see it, is that I don't
really
have access to your pro, and your build may be vastly different from mine,
demanding different instructions. For example I've never had lower back pain
from S&T although I've only used it with short irons. The other thing is
that
to start *my* grass mower, I just push, and I've never been a waiter, nor
have
I ever hit a baseball :-)
However, I will continue to follow this thread, and wish you good luck.
