I don't think many bear hunters are interested in eating them. I
think
they hunt them out of pure ego, i.e., you' re bigger and stronger
than
I am, but I can still kill you.
This is just plain wrong John. I don't know a single bear hunter who
dosent
eat them. And I know plenty of them.
Same reason why people hunt mountain> lions. That's what trophy
hunting
is all about - rich white men who
travel the world looking for the biggest, most beatiful, most
magnificent animals on Earth -- so they can kill them. Pure ego with
no benefit to anyone. It's destructive and it turns the concept of
natural selection on its head -- death of the fittest rather than
survival of the fittest.
People eat mountain lion as well.
The bear hunters you know don't fly out to MN from NYC or LA and hire
a hunting guide to find them a bear to shoot. Those people aren't in
it for the meat.
Nope, the ones I know are from MN and Wisc. There are plenty of people
who
use guides for bear, deer, turkey, moose, ect. And believe it or not most
are in it for the meat.
Some guides who promise their clients a mountain lion will use dogs to
find one. The dogs tree the cat, then the guide climbs the tree and
cuts the cat's paw so he can't get down. Then they bring the "hunter"
in and he shoots the cat in the tree. I don't think these folks are
looking for food. I've seen videotape of this.
Where do you get this crap anyway? The guide climbs a tree to cut the
cats
paw? Like that would stop a cat anyway. They've been hunting cats like
that
for decades.
Like I said, I saw a videotape of it.
Where at PETA.com? I call BS. So explain to me just how a guide is supposed
to climb up a tree and cut the paw of an extremely pissed off cougar?
