.... and in general are against cutting trees, controlled burning of
under brush or anything else that would help lessen the spread of
uncontrolled forest fires... remove the fuel and the fires are much
smaller.

If your're going to hug a tree... at least make sure it's not on
fire. :)

Seriously though... I don't like to see anyone's home, memories,
pictures, etc go up in smoke. That's always a very bad thing. Luckily,
not too many people were hurt or killed.
