Actually, the main reason that they give the degree after med school
is because they can be called doctor while they are residents. Either
way, the MD is the most prestigious academic degree because the
requirement to finish training are more stringent that any other
degree.
Sorry, Bill Ph.Ds don't quite measure up.
Bull***, Jack. You just are unable to distinguish the time and memory
demands of the MD from the intellectual challenge of a degree in which
originality and creativity are required.
