Here's some winners from the last few years: Zach Jonhson, Geoff
Ogilvy, Michael Campbell, Todd Hamilton, Ben Curtis, Shaun Micheel?
Which of those is either deep or strong? Other than their lone major
win, those 6 have a total of 7 other wins.
Exactly.
The field is too deep and too strong for 4 or 5 guys to dominate. The wins
are spread all over the place because the field is more competitive relative
to 30 or 40 years ago.
That is of course until Tiger shows up. Then half the time the entire field
is playing for second. It's why Tiger will break all the the so called
"greats' " records.
I agree with you. I don't know how it can be suggested that golf is
weaker now than in the past when there are millions more players from
many more countries around the world playing. This can only lead to
stronger competition. Just look at the mix of countries in the top 100
in the world rankings. If you look at the world ranking top 20, there
are 10 different nations represented. That is some pretty good world
wide depth in my book.
