More rubbish.

"For bureaucratic reasons we settled on one issue, weapons of mass
destruction, because it was the one reason everyone could agree on," Mr
Wolfowitz tells the magazine".

Ok Jack. Give us your explanation of the above quote. I've had a long day
and could use a laugh.

p.s. Don't be lazy. If you disagree, say why.

First, let's look at the entire quote.

"The truth is that for reasons that have a lot to do with the U.S.
government bureaucracy we settled on the one issue that everyone could
agree on which was weapons of mass destruction as the core reason, but
-- Hold on one second.

He takes a call.

Wolfowitz: There have always been three fundamental concerns. One is
weapons of mass destruction, the second is support for terrorism, the
third is the criminal treatment of the Iraqi people. Actually I guess
you could say there's a fourth overriding one which is the connection
between the first two."

There's absolutely nothing in this that could be construed to mean
that the US used WMDs as an excuse. WMDs weren't the excuse, they
were the core reason that the US went to war.

What's more, anyone with any critical judgment would have to ask
themselves why would Wolfowitz, an administration official, say such a
thing to a VF reporter. The idea is absurd in itself without ever
reading the interview. Even if it was true, he wouldn't say any such
thing.
