Nonsense: Handouts "entitlements" are. Every group has a tin cup in
the face of the Fed. Govt. and expects their piece of the pie. Look at
how much goes to handouts compared to anything else. Why do seniors,
probably the wealthiest group in society, get heavily subsidized
health care, but working poor, people say 20-30, don't..but they have
to pay for the handouts to rich seniors?
As for earmarks, other govts. are the worst. You will note that ethics
rules do not apply to lobbying by other governments. The City of New
York can wine, dine and confer gifts on federal politicians to get the
fed. tax dollars they "need" so that they don't have to tax their own
constituents for the money they need. Why can't the city of NY raise
their own tax revenue? ..as opposed to wasting some of it on lobbying
and then "getting" federal money?
