Well, nobody ever said our media wasn't fucked up.

But if it were only "a teenager with poor judgment". Team Wie is a
multimillion dollar industry. She is the focal point, though clearly
not the quarterback of this team.

Bingo. And that's my point. Whatever ripping of the Wie media
machine should be of the adults who created it. Not her.

Any ripping of a teenage girl that isn't tempered by at least a
pinch of compassion is out of line. We're supposedly adults who
should know better, right?

I think her decline and fall into golf's Jennifer Capriati is
terribly sad, not least of all because Wie really has the talent
to be great. I do think you're appropriately critical of her
walking off the course, but just remember this is a child we're
talking about, even if her handlers don't.
