Re: Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 w/slope

"I have the Pinseeker 1500 without slope, and I've found it remarkably
precise and accurate. I've been able to hit a pin at 480 yards with it,
when resting the laser on my golf bag. Granted, my working career was as
a field biologist, and I spent years using binoculars and spotting scope
for hours at a time: this may account for my success with the
rangefinder, but it's possible you're not using the pinseeker mode
correctly.
What this mode does is give you the reading on the nearest object that
the laser hits while the button is depressed. To use it, sight on the
flag, making sure there are no tree branches or other objects in front.
Then press and hold the button while you jiggle the aiming circle around
the flag. Let up on the button after you're sure that the circle passed
over the flag. The reading then indicates the distance to the nearest
object the circle passed over, which should be the flag. I'm able to do
this in under 5 seconds, and find that if I take the reading 3 times, I
usually come up with the same distance each time. If this doesn't work
for you, I'd guess that the unit is defective."

I'm going to revisit this. I must be doing something wrong or as you
say the device might be defective from what others have said as well.
