Jack, it is you who seem uninformed. First you state that:

Which can only mean that you are reading short reports. I pointed out at
least two widely read news sources that reported exactly that. Any fully
expanded version has the same information. But in a condensed report the
fact that 3 of them were illegal aliens is a minor point - the others were
not. Nor do they appear to be some sort of sleeper cell. Just a group of
idiots.

Now we are "uninformed" about their plans. The reporting here is an
unqualified mish-mash. Some officials saying things like "they were days
away from implementing their plans" - yet they hadn't even managed to buy
their weapons. So I wonder at the motives of some of the hype. The
indictment says:

"At the same time, a 26-page indictment unsealed Tuesday indicates that the
group had no rigorous military training and did not appear close to being
able to pull off an attack. "

Now - was there "intent" by this group of misfits? Yup. Was there an
ability to pull it off? Hmmm. The tip that led to their arrest was when
they went to Circuit City to have their Jihad tape copied. Brain surgeons.
Attack Fort Dix? Ahem. Isn't that where we *keep* weapons and people who
are trained to use them? "Hi! I have some pizzas for delivery and ignore
the AK-47!". Even kuckleheads could have done some damage, but 5 minutes
after the attack started they would have been hamburger.

That isn't to minimize the intent of what they had planned. But we have
pinheads of all kinds who do bad things for crazy reasons - many who
apparently aren't as inept as these guys. Many who are born and bred here
in the good ol' USofA. Many who went to Sunday school and aren't Muslim.
