Re: Phickelson's 4 wood

I don't know what he does on the tight Euro courses, but his PGA stats
are 285 average, and 9% of his drives are over 300. And he flushed
his drive on 18, meaning he hit a perfect drive about 25-30 yards
shorter than his usual best drive. Bone claimed the conditions would
result in a 4W about 15 yards shorter than usual, which sounds
proportionate. And my question was, who actually hit 4W on 18? Guess
what, citing someone who hit driver is not a great rebuttal.

Ya' missed the point, Pseudonym. The fact that Monty hit the driver to
his usual distance indicates that the wind you and Boner claim was
there was not there - a 15mph wind is noticeable on television. The
hole was not uphill, the link shows that. That was the point. And to
take it a step further, Bones, being the Company Man he obviously is
(w/ good reason), better damn well cover his player's ass. I would say
the exact same bull*** for a piece of Phil's pie. Doesn't mean it's
true.

But you conveniently avoided the question. Which club would you pull
for $1.4mil; a fairway wood or the driver you had been hitting so
poorly all day? And if you say you would pull the latter, you're
dumber than you come off here. This is, of course, making the broad
assuming you actually play golf instead of fawning over crowd favs on
Usenet. I say that 'cause I don't recall a single post from you
discussing a round, a shot, a hole, a course you've played, a club you
pured, a score, nothing. It's pretty fun - you should get out and try
it some time...singles are welcome at most courses after a certain
hour.
