Re: Hole in Ones, Eagles, etc - Do they count when you play alone?

That's a load of crock. If you do it by yourself, you still did it.
This is the old "if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to
hear it, did it make a noise?"

Actually, if a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around, it
doesn't actually make a noise, because sound waves require a receptor.
There certainly are sound waves created by the fall, but unless a being
with an ear is there to decode them into sound, really, there isn't any
noise...just waves.

But, that's super-navel-gazing nitpicking.

Mike's right on everything else in the post. I had a 40 foot birdie the
other day by myself and I told everyone I knew about it. My pals know I
usually only regale them with tales of desperate struggle and
water-balls, so they know I'm pretty truthful about my solo games.

So, nobody blinked. And if you're a person of your word, your pals
won't either.
