I don't want to argue--he just said handicap golfers leak strokes
primarily because they don't get it to the hole--from the fairway to
the green and on the green to the hole. We are always short and that
costs us a few every round. Statistically handicap golfers would be
FAR better off to play something that puts it pin high even if we flub
it a little, have a little grass behind the ball, etc. etc. NOBODY
hits it crisp every time, not even touring pros. I can remember Jack
Nicklaus flubbing short chips.
But if you're that good, obviously that advice doesn't apply to you.
congrats.
It sounds as though you are saying that poor players consistently hit
the ball short, and that if we take a longer club we will hit short
longer which will be just right.

I'm not consistent anything. Consistency is not a characteristic I
would ascribe to poor players such as myself.
I know of someone who's always late, so he sets his watch 5 minutes
ahead. It doesn't help as he knows his clock is 5 minutes ahead.
