Interesting point.
I don't neccessarily think the PGA has it wrong, but more than likely most golfers are looking for a 'quick fix' - that magic little move that will propel them from a 20 handicap to scratch in one easy lesson.

Golf requires practice and to play good golf it requires lots of practice, but the practice itself must have some direction, not bashing balls one after the other.

I think this speaks to the fact that golf, regardless of equipment improvements, agronomy improvements etc., is an inherently difficult game to master.

Golf clubs need more paying members and less pontificating snobbery with puritanical, non-inclusive officialdom ) ...
