swing anything but muscle backs and heavy steel shafts. But the smart
ones do admit that--and lower their handicap 5 strokes by switching to
graphite and big cavity backs. Everybody including pros is more
accurate with a less than 100% effort swing. I expect essentially
all pros to switch in the next few years--maybe even less than that--
when they can get the same endorsement deals with graphite, they'll
switch.

Nonsense Larry
The shaft weight between a graphite 5 iron and a steel 5 iron may be
different.
However, the graphite shafts are longer to make up for the swingweight
difference.
The swingweights are the same.
Whatever. There is no doubt that we all get more distance with
graphite clubs-- for the same swing--at least 10 more yards for the
middle irons and maybe more with 2-4 irons. If you have a strong
classic finish to your swing, i.e. do not decelerate before impact,
you will get super distance as well as sufficient directional control.
I think that most amateurs who miss erratically do so because they
decelerate-- they fail to make a full turn and transition forward--and
hit off their back foot. They cast and the bottom of their OTT swing
arc is in the middle or even behind the middle of their stance.
Their tiny divot points to the left-- across their body- indicating an
out-to-in clubhead path. They don't make a classic finish.
And then they blame the clubs.
