It is a wonder to me why
anyone except touring pros with 130 MPH clubhead speed swings-- play
anything BUT graphite. Just silly--ego, etc. I know I and every
friend who has alternated says they lost at least 10 yards per club
with steel over graphite. Why? Why force yourself to swing out of
your shoes trying to hit a 7-iron 150 with a Mizuno MB and Rifle 6.5
shart-- when a nice smooth swing could do it with a graphite cavity
back BB or equivalent? I gotcher ego right here.
Maybe it's because good golfers put a premium on accuracy vs. distance?
Duh.
So you are saying that golfers sacrifice directional accuracy with
graphite shafts? I doubt they could sell them if that were true. It
might have been true 20 years ago when graphite first came out--their
torsional reliability was suspect-- but not since. Corey Pavin won
the US Open playing graphite shafts.
And I would bet your driver and 3w shafts are graphite.
