"The Democrats don't have a platform of their own yet. "
And if I were a democrat I couldn't figure out one-- there is just no
viable platform for them that the American people would want. ANY
change would be for the worse. We are NOT going to do National Health
Care--because there is no world example in which it works--or has not
essentially bankrupted the government that tried it. All of Europe
except the UK has 10%+ unemployment and stagnant economies-- we should
imitate them?
During the next three years it will dawn on voters that Bush has been
spectacularly successful, first in Afghanistan, then in Iraq and
against likely dozens and dozens of planned terrorist attacks that
have been thwarted for years. He will solve the entire Middle East
problem at least temporarily. The economy is nothing short of
roaring, the tax revenues are wildly up because of that and the tax
cuts allowed businesses to thrive, hire more people, and pay more
taxes. Unemployment is statistically zero-- more people own homes
that at any time in history, not just numbers, but percentages.
So republicans will be elected and reelected--and Bush will be replaced
by someone simply saying, "I will continue his programs."
