Re: Golf Is Having A Bad Year...Why?

I have been watching this Summer as several courses in my area have

I have heard a few reasons mentioned by the golf writers: frustration
over slow play, overdevelopment of courses in the mid-90's, exorbitant
equipment prices, etc.

Am curious what each of you would list as the TOP 3 REASONS PEOPLE ARE
PLAYING LESS GOLF IN 2004-5 ?

I don't buy the premise, at least not here in Edmonton, where public green fee golfers have an abundance of reasonably priced, interesting courses, as well as a handful of top dollar resort-style tracks. Five or six years ago, there was concern that there were too many courses. However, they all seem to be packed. Monday at 10AM...packed. Wednesday at 3..packed...Saturday at 4...packed. I played a mid-grade suburban course yesterday. It was packed. Just what I could see..4some at 11:08, 3some at 11:17...our 3some at 11:26...two 2somes that became a 4some right behind us, and plenty of others.
