As others pointed out, the ball goes noticeably further than its warm,
and shorter when its cold, and a very slight amount further when it is
humid -- but that may not be true when its so foggy you can't see your
ball land after hitting it a SW.
Don't overlook the effect of barometric pressure. There's a noticeable
difference in distance when the pressure is low versus high. I had
noticed for years that some days I seemed to be a half club longer with
my irons and some days a half club shorter. I just figured it was due
to variations in how well I was swinging. But when I learned that the
barometric pressure can have a noticeable effect for the next couple
months after I played I'd think about whether I felt like I was hitting
it longer, shorter or about what I'd expect and then check the pressure
on the weather channel. It seemed to match up with my assumptions,
though I'm not going to claim this was exactly a scientific study!
So if you were in Florida right now with the hurricane you ought to be
really hitting it out there since the pressure is extremely low, and if
you are hitting in the right direction, that 90 mph wind at your back
has got to really be dishing out the extra yards if you are able to keep
your feet long enough to make a swing :)
