I have no idea what I "average" with my driver. I prefer to block out
most of the bad drives and remember the good ones.
Another thing to remember is we don't all play the game under the
same conditions. My move to Texas reminded me of this fact, big time.
Playing here in 100 degree heat and rock hard fairways, I've hit some
300+ yd drives. I even managed to drive the green of a 360 yd par 4,
with the help of a little breeze and a downslope near the green. But
I'm not bragging, I'm really a pretty short knocker who probably hits
it closer to 240 under cold, wet conditions.
But, if you told someone here that they were crazy to think that they
hit their drives 280 yds, they would probably look at you
with a puzzled look. Drives like that happen all the time around
here.
