Hey, it made me laugh.
At the last RSG SoCal outing we played in the "foothills" north of
Escondido (north San Diego County) and there was thunder in the
distance and scattered sprinkles. We discussed the weather, but I
don't think anyone seriously considered packing it in. Of course, I'm
a lot more fatalistic about that kind of thing. I was the one who held
his putter into the air on the green. LOL
Like Annika and Pflum on thunderstorms--the louder the better.(1) Of
course, we don't see 'em much here in SoCal. I do remember one when I
was a little kid, about 6th grade age. It was late at night and I was
supposed to be in bed but instead I was kneeling on my desk and staring
out the window up at the sky. It was very, very cool until the whole
world exploded with thunder and lightning simultaneously.
Turned out that lightning had hit the 60' antenna of the ham radio
operator a few doors down. Fried all of his ham equipment and didn't
do the wall the equipment was on much good either. That was exciting.
