I feel that college athletes should get some kind of stipend that is totally out in the open.

I agree, with the caveat that they are already getting a decent
stipend called food, board, books, and education.

IAWTP. Is this supposed to cover cell phones?, movies and other
entertainment? Clothes? CAR PAYMENTS??

The flip side is that many have called for us to just throw in the
towel and make college athletes paid employees. The stars are using
college as a stepping stone to the pros anyway so why not just make it
more transparent?

Because most colleges can't afford it. And do you pay only football and men's basketball, or is
that a Title IX violation?

Let the boosters pay into a fund. I'm not talking about a huge amount of money. More to the end of
cell phones, clothes, and movies than cars.

Great idea. That shouldn't create any issues with disparities. I guess the Iowa States of this world really shouldn't bother then when they are in the same conference as Texas and Oklahoma. Because it was bad enough when they can't compete on reputation, but now they also have to compete on the ability of the school to cut them a check.

The only way they can do this is to eliminate NCAA tournament and conference payments to the schools and direct the checks right to the students no matter what institution they play for. Because otherwise, only about 10 schools will ever be able to compete in just about any sport.
