So, as I read it, the air traffic controllers and military still go to
work, but they don't get paid until a budget or continuing resolution

White house doesn't want a shutdown.
Tactical mistake by house GOP though as again Obama will swoop in to
"seal the deal".
People think he's weak, but contrary to most people and conventional
wisdom I'm thinking he's increasingly appearing like a leader that
gets sh! t done, that's secure in himself (look how good he came out
looking from the Tax deal).
