This is just posturing for Boehner to show that he stood firm.
White house doesn't want a shutdown.
Tactical mistake by house GOP though as again Obama will swoop in to
"seal the deal".
People think he's weak, but contrary to most people and conventional
wisdom I'm thinking he's increasingly appearing like a leader that
gets sh! t done, that's secure in himself (look how good he came out
looking from the Tax deal).
