No problem and I'm happy to help. I am not familiar with the other
brands of printers, but personally I like the HP line. The only other
thing I can think to add at this time is that if you're looking for
linux drivers, HP models are generally supported but from experience,
Canon has a reputation of not having compatible drivers available.

YMMV - indeed! I swear by Canon - after being a (an?) HP man for several years, I totally swore off them after some bad experiences. I have a cheap-o Canon Pixma that has done me as well as my EOS camera, and my Canon scanner.
