I still get the newspaper every day. At this point, I feel like I'm
supporting a worthwhile charity in this regard.
I estimate that I recycle 80 percent of my paper products. For this
reason, I have trouble reconciling the waste all these newspapers add
to the garbage stream, with my love of good journalism.
I can actually read a long newspaper article without stopping. I can't
read a long internet news article without checking email, r.s.f.c., my
bank account, the e-trade nightmare, etc.
Interesting ... to me, I can no longer read the paper version. I like
online versions because I can read 5-6 papers, bookmark particular
authors that I like, and be done in half the time that I would with a
paper version and I find it much more enjoyable.
I get my local paper in the dead tree version, but I read the Wall
Street Journal on the Kindle.
I like both of them, for different reasons.
I like the relaxed weekend morning with the physical paper and a cup
of coffee.
But I also like that the WSJ comes to me every day without regard to
where I am that morning or without me having to retrieve it, and
dispose of the paper afterwards.
What's the big difference to you from reading the WSJ on the Kindle as
opposed to going and reading the WSJ web news site?
