Re: Prosecuting Bushies

hey, Chris Bellomy <ten.wohsdoog@sirhc>'s been through solid matter,
for crying out loud. Who knows what's happened to his brain? Maybe
it's scrambled his molecules...

Other examples of times when justice was subservient to political
expediency:

Not prosecuting the Japanese Emperor for War Crimes
ditto for "valuable" German scientists
Ford's pardon of Nixon
Isn't it clear by now that the pardon of Nixon was a
catastrophic mistake?
no... I think people would have went Ape***, rioting in the streets
kinda thing, much like the riots of the late 60's...
Who the hell would have done that? Riots in the streets
were so passe by 1974, and Nixon was *that* unpopular,
even among Republicans. A fair trial could and should
have happened. I don't think Nixon would have drawn any
serious prison time -- possibly none at all -- but letting
the system work would have been far superior to cutting
it off before it could finish the job.

nope... patch it up put it back to work... look what the Impeachment
of Clinton did to Congress and imagine the division over a real
crime...

What did it do, besides distract? The country recovered
just fine, even the idiots responsible.

And, you know, justice ran its course then, too.

Justice did, and it made the politicians even more Polarized...

we need to get back from the extremes... and find the middle ground.
