So my current employer instituted a "regular prescription" policy last

You probably see where I'm going with this.
12 days ago I contacted the pharmacy asking them to request a new
prescription. I then courtesy-called the doctor's office to give
them a heads-up -- the nurse was kind enough to take my name, the
pharmacy name, etc. Sounds real simple.
Last Friday I check the pharmacy web page. They're still waiting for
the prescription. I call the doctor's office and get their voicemail:
I politely but forcefully inform them of the situation, leave them the
pharmacy FAX number, and ask that they leave a message on *my*
answering machine to keep me apprised.
This evening, the pharmacy still hasn't received the script. I have
received no phone call. The doctor's office is currently closed, so
there's no point in leaving a message this evening.
I'm pissed.
You think that's fun? You should try getting monthly scripts for a
"controlled substance" like ritalin (for my kid). You HAVE to get the
scripts in person, they cannot be "called-in." You have to hope the Doc, or
someone with some kind of authorization is there to give you a script.
Monthly joy I tells ya.
