Heck, I'm not against OT stuff universally, especially seeing as how I'm
only involved in threads on Seattle and Ned Yost at the moment. (No one
is doing a very good job of bating me with ND stuff lately, and Illinois
is still not back on very many radar screens. Yet.) But the politics
stuff is getting almost pathological.
I mean, really. Is that too much to ask? It's not like I'm asking
anyone to quit jerking; I'm just asking you to put a sign on the door so
that I don't inadvertently walk into the room. Yeah, I can slowly back
out of the room by marking the thread "ignore," but my eyes are already
bleeding by then.
This is hilarious for a couple of reasons....The only clue I have as
to what team you root for is because your signature includes your
residence,
I've made no secret of my backing of Illinois and ND, and Jeff made it
official for me on the RSFCkers site years ago. I don't hide my ND
support, but I also don't make like Pavlov's dog every time someone
slams them, either. And Illinois doesn't get much attention here for
perfectly understandable reasons, given their track record. But
hopefully that's in the process of changing.

You may not have made a secret of it, but I seriously did not know you
were an Illini or ND fan until this post....there's a rsfckers site?

http://www.rsfckers.com/

Affiliations are at:

http://www.rsfckers.com/affiliations.htm

and because more often than not you leave rsfc for a few
days and then you come back with a flurry of OT posts that have
dropped off the front page days ago.
Like I said initially, I admit to my share of OT stuff, since most of
REFC *is* OT stuff. But not all OT stuff is created equal, and of my OT
stuff that is also political in nature, it's definitely *not* of the
lying and petty character assassination variety. Heck, if I've gotten
involved in a discussion of a specific candidate at all, it's been to
defend someone against an unfair attack, rather than to launch an unfair
attack of my own. And it's this overwhelming sense of unfairness that is
getting so old so quickly--for me, at least.

That's why I've added so many new subject filters lately.

Still....I'm just sayin...you of all people complaining of OT posts is
hilarious...especially when I check in and see that you've replied to
20 posts that have dropped off the front page days ago...all of them
off topic. Not as hilarious as Loewe replying to posts from years
ago, but still pretty damb funny.

I understand. And keep in mind that I pointed out at the outset that
I'm not complaining about *all* OT (or even all political) stuff. I may
not have done a very good job of it, but I thought I'd made it clear
that I was talking about the people obsessing about the upcoming
election and posting every rumor as soon as Kos or NewsMax tells them
about it.
