and the Oil? North slope of Alaska... so to get from source to
refinery.... boat through PANAMA canal....
Even IF there were no west coast refineries, it would likely go by
pipeline.
about the same distance to send it to China...
China (or, more to the point, JAPAN) would be less than through the
Panama Canal (which is why they'd use a pipeline, but I digress), BUT
the oil China (or, more to the point, Japan) is buying elsewhere would
be shifted to our use.
