The ACC went 2-4 versus Div I-A competition during opening weekend.
From worst to best:
East Carolina 27, VIRGINIA TECH 22
Alabama 34, CLEMSON 10
South Carolina 34, NC STATE 0
Southern Cal 52, VIRGINIA 7
NORTH CAROLINA 35, McNeese State 27
MARYLAND 14, Delaware 7
GEORGIA TECH 41, Jacksonville State 14
MIAMI (FL) 52, Charleston Southern 7
BOSTON COLLEGE 21, Kent 0
WAKE FOREST 41, Baylor 13
DUKE 31, James Madison 7
I list Duke's win as the best ACC win of the weekend because JMU is a
top-shelf I-AA program, and it's an encouraging sign that Duke handled
them easily.
