i like saban. people in baton rouge have terribly mixed feelings about him, on one hand acknowledging that LSU is where it is today largely because of his efforts, but bitter over a perceived backstabbing in going to another SEC school.

living in baton rouge but not being an LSU fan, i just admire the tremendous job he did at LSU - essentially the equivalent of what steve spurrier did at florida, awakening a giant that had been sleeping for decades - and hope he does well at alabama. college football is more fun when the traditional powers are ... powerful.
